Josh Hartnett & Kirsten Dunst in “The Virgin Suicides”
Another huge inspiration for the film. The Virgin Suicides (1999) by one of my favourite directors Sophia Coppola.
I love the style of this film with it’s dreamy overly feminine aesthetics in contrast with the dark undertones of the narrative.
Tristan Kelly is based somewhat off Trip Fontain and some of the inspiration for the writing on the leg comes from Lux’s writing on her underwear.

Narrator: We knew the girls were really women in disguise, that they understood love and even death… and that our job was merely to create the noise that seemed to fascinate them.
